Living Root Bridge – Mawlynnong

#travelwithgdp Fact: The Living Root Bridges are handmade bridges, constructed by either tying the roots when young or letting them grow at certain angles until they can hold the weight of a human.

Description: Visited the famous Root Bridge, built by the local Khasi Tribes surrounding the area. Such an innovative way to build bridges, and a unique experience to cross the bridge where only one-two person(s) are allowed at a time. If you climb the steep stairs (visible in the picture) and climb/walk for a couple of kms, you can visit the beautiful Nohwet Point which itself is a story for another time.
