The Coast Side – Kanyakumari

#travelwithgdp Fact: The sand of Kanyakumari beach has different colors. It is believed that the remains of the unheld marriage between Lord Shiva and Kanyakumari Devi become several sand colors.

Description: Since the early 1970s, tourism has been an industry in the town. Because of this, it is one of the few small towns in South India where one can hear many of the different languages of India spoken in the street. It is one of the major tourist attractions in India. So while we travelled around the city, it was amazing to hear the different languages and mixture of culture that echoed across the city.

While on the ferry towards the Vivekananda Rock, the best view is that of the sun rays gleaming through the clouds falling on the coast of Kanyakumari.
