Pamban Bridge – Rameswaram

#travelwithgdp Fact: Pamban Bridge is a railway bridge which connects the town of Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. Opened on 24 February 1914, it was India’s first sea bridge and was the longest sea bridge in India until the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in 2010.

Description: One of the greatest modern architectural beauties of India, the Pamban Bridge is a sight to behold. It was the first travel link established between India mainland and Rameswaram which still serves thousands of pilgrims, locals, and tourists to visit the island. Reached there at 6 P.M. to watch the train slowly pass over the bridge with the sunset over the sea and the wind bellowing across our face. Witnessed a true spectacle.
