Statue of Liberty – New York

#travelwithgdp Fact: There are seven rays on her crown, one for each of the seven continents, each measuring up to 9 feet in length and weighing as much as 150 pounds.

Description: The Statue of Liberty is a figure of Libertas, a robed Roman liberty goddess. She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula ansata inscribed in Roman numerals with “JULY IV MDCCLXXVI” (July 4, 1776), the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. A broken chain lies at her feet as she walks forward. The statue became an icon of freedom and of the United States. It is the American dream for every Indian and so much of is inspired by seeing Times Square and Statue of Liberty. The ride alongside the Statue of Liberty on the Staton Ferry is one of the best and cheapest ways to view the Liberty Lady! 🗽
